Hi,

I have a question.

Tution For You CD Vol 1

Test 2
Q7 Compound Word

wheat whole
corn germ
rice stick

The answer from the cd is wheatgerm. I am not sure about this answer.

Could someome help me please?

is this where yu have to make a whole word out of one of the first column and one of th second column ? if it is then wheatgerm is the only one I can see.

Yes, hermanmunster is right, that is the only possible answer.
But TBH, it is normally written with a space in between. Hmmm...

LuluQueen, I think it's usually one word, actually (my dictionary agrees).

It HAS to be one word, that's why it's a COMPOUND word.

Compound: two words joined together to make one word.

This is interesting. My dictionary says it's two words. Also Google doesn't like 'wheatgerm' and asks if I mean 'Wheat germ'. So maybe it's one of those split personality words!!! :)

It's in my little electronic Sharp dictionary - and that's the Oxford Dictionary of English - as one word. Language and spellings change - just because it's not in one dictionary as one word, doesn't mean it's not valid.
