Mirror codes - chart in excel
Further to Mike's post regarding a doughnut chart in excel, I have tried this but get a blank chart. Can you talk me through this again?
Thanks
Polly

well do you know, young Snowdrops, that you must have the magic touch? I assumed that that was it, but it was greyed out (and being called Chart Wizard, and me being so very literal when following something as complicated as instructions) meant I didn't linger not sure if it was right anyway.
Oh, 5 mins later. When I put the A B C in it greys out again. Off to try clicking first, then ABC-ing.
Ah, well, now I'm well out of my depth - exploded doughnut ?!? (steady on!) data range?? hastily exited excel.
I'll stick to Colourful Xylophone and Yellow Bananas I think!

Hi
In Column A insert the alphabet
Missing info
In Column B insert the value 1 against each letter
Highlight both columns
Click on graphics icon
Choose "doughnut" - next
next
Click on 3rd option on drop down menu
Choose category name
next
finish
Hope this works
You can remove the alphabet list on the right of the image by right clicking on it and deleting.
You can copy and paste the circle into a word document, then re-size it to fit the page.
Regards
Mike

Mirror codes 'doughnut' & question types
I am still not managing to do this and find it quite frustrating as I am usually good with Excel. I wonder if it is because I only have 2 sub-types of doughnut. Perhaps I am using a different version of Excel to Mike. Anyhow, I have gone with the idea of listing the letter pairs and we will have a go at learning the word combinations! Hopefully the actual exam won't have too many of these to answer.
Can anybody advise the 'best' type of practice paper to use as I am a little confused with all of the material available. My dd is pretty good at VR (got 95% in a school paper this week), but I still want to focus some of her time on continuing with the practice in order to keep the momentum going.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Polly
