PATCH [BATH] THUMB

THANK YOU
Alisha,

From the first one need to derive how the middle one is made..

B -> THUMB -> Right word 5th letter
A -> PATCH -> Left word 2nd letter
T -> Can be from THUMB OR PATCH - Right word 1st letter OR Left word 3rd letter
H -> Can be from THUMB OR PATCH - Right word 2nd letter OR Left word 5th letter

Applying the above principle to the question below:

FILMS [ ] DRANK

. . D L
K I R S

Out of the above the word that can be made is only KIDS which is your answer.

Once your DC get a hang of it, then the steps can be reduced and can be worked out simultaneously.

Hope this helps.

if it helps at first underline the appropriate letter in the first example , then underline corresponding letter in the second example, write it in bracket

Is it a multiple choice question? If so after a few letters of the mystery word you can use the answers on the m/c choice sheet to eliminate some choices
