VR Techniques by susan Daughtrey - pls help

Post by drejodel »

Can anyone guide me on what VR books to buy for method and techniques. My DD has completed Stephen Curran VR books 1&2. Would you recommend Susan Daughtrey books? if so do I get the books 1 -7? as I read on the forum that the packs are better but cant seem to find them anywhere! (dont want to give my child information overload).

Thanks.

I think for technique, you can look at IPS Technique book.
However, I think AE books cover them already.
Better start looking at papers.

I think it probably depends where you are - as I understand it (and I'm sure someone who knows better will correct me if I'm wrong) the Susan Daughtrey books 1-7 contain 35 types, which are not all necessary for area that use GL Assessment for their tests as these only have 21 types. I think the packs are probably all available on here or generally on line. If you say which area you are in, people will be able to help you more specifically.

Absolutely scary mum.

Daughtrey Method and Techniques = 35 plus types of questions in standard form.

IPS 21 types in Multiple Choice.

Drejodel can you tell us which school/area?

Thanks all for your prompt response. I live in Essex so daughter is going for the Essex exam and Kent. Hoping for Dartford Grammar, Wilmington or Westcliff. Have also registered for Brentwood private school just in case.

I have some past papers from Athey Educational and last year GL assessment. I just wanted some explanation on the techniques in VR and NVR so I can explain to my child.

Any advice is welcome. Thanks again. I'm loving this forum! so informative.

not sure about Essex, but the IPS methods and techniques is more suitable for Kent test.
