Re: re VR technique
Orson, mirror codes do appear on these questions, e.g.Orson wrote:No
AB is ZY as CD is to ?? (Answer: XW)
The only letter code questions where mirrors don't turn up are Type L, the long sequences of letter pairs.
Re: re VR technique
Yes, I know mirror codes appear on these questions.
I said 'No' as wellprepared asked if looking for a mirror image should be the priority.
Apologies, if that's misleading.

Re: re VR technique
I was sure you did, but I couldn't read that from the , and I am not sure that the poster will have been able to either.Orson wrote:Yes, I know mirror codes appear on these questions.
Is it a priority? Well, there is no harm in it, although they are sufficiently rare not to present a serious problem. I think a basic first check does no harm, and could speed things up before the child gets to the point where they can no longer see the wood for the trees.I said 'No' as wellprepared asked if looking for a mirror image should be the priority.Apologies, if that's misleading.
Re: re VR technique
I teach my children mirror codes for type C and U just before I introduce The Tutors.
As soon as they see these types they set up the alphabet with a mirror line between N and M. They then go through the whole section to see if a mirror is present, takes a few seconds and in the long run it saves time and heartache.
