My son has done a mock test on 17th June 2012. He got stuck on a question type which he never came across.

Example: Keep the words below in order using sequence

Alter, Table, Able,Stable and Enable.,

Can some one help him out about this question type.

Since 4 of the words end in 'able' - it reminds me of the questions which say 'if the following words were written backwards and then arranged in alphabetical order' which would come first/second/third etc? But I'm not sure from your post whether it is that type and I have no knowledge of the Sutton tests.

No idea about what the question is asking, but how come you have the question with you? The question papers were collected at the end of the test.

If the question is just how your son remembers it, maybe he's left out some key info in the wording?

Ya! you are correct. Just entered what my son remembered. My son said that that's a new type of question what he did not practice either in Bond 11+ online and GL assesment tests.

I am guessing that , it's looks a type: Logical Sequence of words.

Example:
Arrange the words given below in a meaningful sequence.

1. Police 2. Punishment 3. Crime
4. Judge 5. Judgement

A. 3, 1, 2, 4, 5 B. 1, 2, 4, 3, 5
C. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 D. 3, 1, 4, 5, 2

Do we expect this type of questions in 11+ tests ?

It's new to me. Certainly not in GL Assessment tests (yet).
I must confess I quite like it. Good test of vocabulary AND reasoning.
