I'd have gone for 52 and 67

Ambiguous question, but I'd go fo 56 and 59 as the more logical sequence of the possible answers - i.e. the number added reduces by 2 each time
44 + 7 = 51
51 + 5 = 56
56 + 3 = 59
59 + 1 = 60
60 + -1 = 59

It could also be alternately add 7 and 1 to give an answer of 52 and 67 as Reading Mum suggests.

I get the same answer as Reading Mum. I think this is one of those alternate sequences, so you start with the first number, then move to the third, then fifth, and similarly start with the second, then fourth, then sixth. Add 8 each time.

I would go with Okanagan since he has established a sequence. If the question was to do with an alternating sequence, then there would have been more numbers and definite clues to the jumping sequence.

Apologies for assuming Okanagan to be a "he".
