Substitute the values for the letters and work out these equations. Give each answer as a letter..

A = 4, B = 8, C = 10, D = 15 E = 5 what is the value of :

C/E-A-B =
Answer is D

A/D+D-E =
Answer is C

Can anyone explain please. My daughter struggles with these ones when the answer doesnt works out straightaway... any specific method to work for these???

These should be straightforward. Exchange the letters for numbers and work out from left to right. Perhaps this is a mistype or misprint. Letts have had problems with this type of question before.
