Verbal reasoning - find the number

Please can someone help with another verbal reasoning question:

Find the missing number:

4 [12] 36 2 [6] 18

5 [?] 45

Unable to help my daughter find the solution.

Your help would be much appreciated.

You need to look at the relationship of the number in brackets to the ones either side


so 12 is 3 times 4 and a third of 36

and 6 is 3 times 2 and a third of 18
