Code questions - How to improve speed and accuracy?

DD is really struggling with code questions in VR. She seems to take forever and if she takes a timed test, she either leaves them out or gets most of them wrong Surprisingly, she is doing well in other areas of the paper.

After a couple of papers, we did IPS books - used the red book to understand how its done and then practiced with questions in the other two books. She improved slightly with accuracy, but is still massively struggling with the speed. I don't know what to do. Please can anyone help?

Is exam this year or next year ? If it is next year , please do not worry about time now , just ask her to take time but try understand concepts... once they understand pattern it will easy.
