prep.
My DS has recently got through and has scored very High. I would recommend following:
-Start in time so you know the areas you need to focus on.
-Never let the confidence of child fall.
-Try all different materials but keep focus on the types that are used locally.
-Kids should also have rich vocabulary and good grasp of numeracy and hence side reading is essential.
-some combined works with peers make them intersted to work.
-Time management is crucial.
-Find the weak areas and work extra on them.
-child on the process can also develope some own strategy and encourage them to do it as long as you check it carefully.
-Don't experiment anything new before exams as it can distract and confuse them.
-Good rest before exam.
-Obviously, there is not a single prescription for all and hence you know your child best and find the ways to keep their motivation high.
-If you know someone who could guide your child with tips.
Finally, it is a bit of as well in the sense that they have to perform on the day.
GOOD LUCK!

Hi,
has anyone had a child that has done an entrance exam for west Berkshire at all?
Could do with some help/advice as daughter will be taking it next January 2010 for a private school in West Berks and although we know it contains VR,English,Maths,Science some other experiences would be very helpful!
Thank you!
