is 'burn out' a problem?

Post by fluff »

Hi I have read a few things about children 'burning out'
is this really possible,or more a case of a child getting bored rather than burnt out?

And if it really can happen ,how do you know when enough is enough before it happens?

Hello there

I have just been wondering about the boredom thing setting in. I have been tuitoring my dd once a week since February and I guess she has been doing a test once a week now for the last 3 months or so. I have noticed the last couple of tests she has made some silly mistakes which I think may be out fo being bored, blase , auto pilot maybe. I am actually wondering whether to give her a week off from testing and maybe just play word games in our next session.

I think that you should do exactly that Mel X, something different for her. Word games sounds like an excellent idea. Have you played that word game recently, which has a link on this site, which also donates rice to the third world?
