Could somebody help me in one particular question?

We finished the tutor verbal reasoning multiple choice paper four-B and there is a particular question that we can not find the right solution.
It is in fact question 40, I just wonder if there is a mistake in the first part, meaning the first number in brackets -should it be 70?. If it is not, could you please help us to solve the problem?

We just decided there must have been a misprint of the first set of numbers, so that all sets should work as (a (a-b) b).
