Hi All,

This year's cut-off mark for Tiffin school was 231 and My DS got 228. But I'm so proud of him getting such a high mark. He has been offered a place at another part selective school in Sutton, but his mind is set on Tiffin Boys.
Looking through the waiting list for Tiffin boys over the last few years, the cut off marks seems to be moving down by 2-3.
I would like to know , if any of you are in the same situation like us.

140 places have been offered on and the 1st of March
Currently the waiting list stays as below.

Score -  Number of Boys
230 - - - - 14
229 - - - - 9
228 - - - -14
227 - - - - 6
226 - - - - 13

I think you mean the cut off was 231.

Last year, as you may already know, 26 places were allocated from waiting list. This year, it would be any one's guess. But you will need to wait perhaps till July or even till September as some children may be waiting for outcome for their other choices. Some take up offers from independent schools as well.

Good news is that Tiffin gives places to all the candidates who tie for 140th rank. So effectively as the list is at present, if 24 places becomes available now, all those at 228 score would get in.

However, sorry to add, the wait list is not static. It can move up or down if some with higher score join the list or if some one decides to take up other options.

Looks like it's going to be a long and painful wait.

Keep hope. Going by the recent history, your DC has very strong probability of getting Tiffin place.

My wife called the school 2 days ago and she was asked to call back after the 26th of March to know the staus of the waiting list.

I called the Tiffin admissions department today and was told that, the cut off mark has gone down to 229. The number of offers are standing at 153.

Thank you. It's seems to be good sign, that the marks gone down by 2 even before easter.

Hi all
My Ds has got 228 and he is also in waiting list. I phoned Tiffin school today and found out that cut off mark is still at 229, waiting for eleven refusals. Looking forward to hear from more people.
