Thanks tiffinboys. It was quite a breeze getting DS into the exam this morning. No queuing or waiting around - just let them through the gates.

Feel anxious, but "what will be, will be".

Thanks Tiffinboys. Nice of you to post. DH and I both nervous, even though we don't really hold out any hope of DS getting in and have asked him to treat it as a mock for January indies. But there's always that teensy part of you that wonders: what if he does get through. It's so unlikely but from our school it's almost never the ones you expect to get in who do.

We've just got back. DS found it tough and thinks he didn't do very well. He was a bit nervous, but he held it together and saw it through to the end. Hope everyone else got on ok.

We've just got back. DS found it hard, did not finish VR paper, but surprisingly finished NVR ahead of time and even checked!! So nice it's over now, and we have some breathing space until January indies!

dd wrote the test this morning. She said there were no content removed. Part of me thinks she was delusional, is that really the case?

Please do not discuss the content of the tests as there are later exam dates

Please could every one hold comments about the test and its contents. This time Tiffins are kindly taking the test for those who missed out registering by 20th July. The boys will take the test on 7th December. The date for girls' test is 30th November.

Both schools will have issues with the late tests.

1) How would they standardize as those taking the late test will have another 10 weeks to prepare.

2) Additionally, for girls, will now more than 450 girls take the English/maths test?

3) Isn't the tests, without the express permission of the Secretary of State, after the CAF date are in violation of the new School Code?

I agree, Tiffinboys. I think they are laying themselves open to far more appeals. That's not only a substantial increase in prep time for December sitters, but also, the Dec cohort will be older.

Surely if 1700 parents gathered that the exam had been brought forward, why are extra arrangements being made for those who didn't? Already more than ever are sitting the test. It just doesn't make sense. We don't have much store set in Tiffin as I doubt DS will pass. But those who have it as a top preference must feel a little cheated.

Were there extra dates in previous years? If not, then why the sudden extra date in December. Surely everyone who wanted to put their DCs forward have already done so...am quite confused. Are our DCs, that have taken the tests today, at a disadvantage now?
