Re: Tiffin Girls, Nonsuch Girls and Wallington Girls
My DG took all 3 exams this year and has passed all three )
There are 3 separate entrance tests for each and you will need to apply separately to each school.
For Nonsuch and Wallington, the top 80 seats are based on merit only so not dependant on catchment and the next 100 seats are for In-Catchment girls though everyone has to clear the test.
Tiffins has introduced a catchment from this year but it is a pretty wide one at present. The intake is 150 students and their website says that girls from outside catchment dont have a realistic chance of being offered a place. However since this is the first year, we will only know after 1st March next year when the final placements will be announced.
You will find the details on the admissions section of the websites of all 3 schools.

This is true for Nonsuch only.imr wrote:

WHSG has 11O places for catchment and 100 open places.

Tiffin Girls offer 150 places (it was 120 upto 2012)Louise2 wrote: As for Tiffin Girls they offer 120 places regardless of where you live. But for the first time this year they are using distance as a criteria on the waiting list. Places are offered from the list in strict rank and distance order. The exam is Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning and is in early December. My daughter sat the exam this year so if you need any more help just post.
VR and NVR was round 1 (already done in early Oct), the Dec exam is English and Maths (there is a seperate thread with more details of this exam)
Last year the combined weighted score was adjusted to max 100 and calculated to 2 decimal places so with 10,000 possible marks for about 450 people, distance order hardly applies as ties for rank will be uncommon (assuming you are in the very large catchment area)
