Tiffin girls stage 1 cut off
Hello all,
My DD is taking the tiffins exam this year. We live in the designated area so is that any advantage while deciding the stage 1 test cut off marks for the people who live with in the designated area?
for example if 1400 girls take stage 1 and out of 1400, 1000 are from within the designated are then the cut off marks for these 1000 is different to that of remaining 400?/
Thanks for the help.
Regards

It is same for all the candidates. OOC can sit for stage 2 tests as well, but very unlikely to get place in TGS as there are likely to be sufficient number of applicants from IC who were successful in stage 1 tests. There is no minimum score requirement for combined tests.

Thank you tiffinboys.
So any idea how many were qualified for stage 2 in last year test?
Once again thanks a lot for your reply.

No official confirmation, but in 2012 TGS had 450 mentioned in the admission arrangements. I believe about the same number qualified for stage 2 in 2013. Perhaps Snowdaddy can give more accurate figures.

Firstly the cut-off does not take into account location at all. They typically offer around the top 500 of candidates from Round 1 to sit Round 2. If you are not in the designated area then you do not realistically have a chance of an offer which is why, amongst other reasons, less than 500 actually attend to sit Stage 2... this is nearer the 450 mark.whythis11plus wrote:My DD is taking the tiffins exam this year. However, these numbers are not really very significant apart from the fact that Stage is 1 is obviously Pass or Fail; realistically you need to be in the high scorers of Stage 1 since the Stage 1 score is carried forwards to the final combined result and it is difficult to gain a place with a Stage 1 score just over the cut-off.
