What do you think the pass mark will be for SET
Hi
Based on those who had kids doing the SET last year, were you given any indication of what the pass mark was for the SET
My DD found the english very hard but said she did very well in the maths.
Based on getting a low score for English ( say 50 percent) and high 90's for the maths, is she likely to go through to the next round?
The waiting until 26th is killing me

DS took test last year, as far as we recollect there were no pass marks given. Only an invite to the second round.nadkha wrote:Hi

I looked up old emails... Last year 2285 boys took the test, 799 were invited to the second stage.
I found it a very stressful not to mention an exhausting time. Yes, it is a killer wait. I kept reminding myself to think of previous years where parents then knew absolutely nothing at all until March- Allocation Day. I think I would keel over if it was that long a wait!! Times have moved on from there, at least you find out before you make a decision.
Hang on in there, you'll find out in no time.
Good luck!

Is catchment also considered in the standardising of scores for Stage 1?

Catchment might not be considered with the boys schools ( Wilson's, wallington, sutton ) due to their super selective entry requirements.. However, I wonder whether the girls schools might adopt a different selection approach to take into account in catchment girls.
All speculation at this point?..

As two girls schools have little less than 400 places, I guess that about 800 girls will move to Stage 2.

Two girls' schools have now 420 places together as Nonsuch has increased their intake to 210.

How many pupil take the test this year? Any ideas?
I guess around 4000-5000 pupil. I wish they standardise the cut off based on the gender also. But seems its not the case.
Thanks and Regards,
W
