Hi,

Can any one please confirm if it would be a holiday for kids appearing for the test on 16th September , or do we have to take approved leave from school.

Any idea when we are receiving our letters with details of the test/venues etc...

Thanks
Jas

Hi Oberajalseen,
You have to put in a request of absence depending on whether your child has been given an am or pm sitting for the SET. At our school, the children were expected to come back into school fo the remainder of the day. Otherwise the headteacher would have marked it as an unauthorised abaence

Just fill out a form to request Authorized leave.
Most state primary do not make a fuss of it, as only a hand full of students take the SET.

Also, I would ask your son / daughter not to make too much of a 'song & dance' about it when they get back to the school.

From memory you advise (not ask) the primary school that your child will be at another education establishment and request a B in the attendance register for that day / half day

Code B does not affect the schools attendance statistics, and is therefore irrelevant to a holiday request

All our DC absences for open days (indys) and entrance tests during the week day were marked as educational leave.
