SET 2024 entry

Post by GS Exams »

Hi,
Does anyone know when would the girls get their SET 1 outcome, a bit nervous of commencing the stage 2 preparations without the result?
Also for the second stage exam, is there a specific format or is it always essay - long writing only for English? Is it mandatory to write in a pen?

Thanks in advance

From the Sutton Grammar School website:

When and how do I find out the outcome of the Selective Eligibility Test?

You will receive an outcome email during the week after the Selective Eligibility Test.

Last year, although it said you wouldn't be penalised for writing in pencil, on the day the invigilator told them that they had to write in pen and handed out pens to those who didn't have them. So I would recommend that you expect to write in pen.

And last year the results of the SET were sent on 26 September with the NWSSEE being on 1 Oct.

Thanks for your responses, I will have to get DD practice writing using a pen. The difficult part is they could easily rub and rewrite if it is pencil!
Phew, so the results will be out next week. It is going to one LONG week wait!

It is creative writing for English and maths questions without multiple choice - expected to be harder than stage 1.

Thank you. Do you know what papers would be good to practice for Maths stage 2? its a bit unclear. Some have suggested Manchester grammar school past papers?
