Budget is upto 750k max (if we clean up all our savings to be near DS's school). Any good areas for this price within commutable distance?

If you are looking for 3/4 bed house , then there are many parts of leafy Sutton or affluent parts of Croydon that has good transport link o Wilson.
You can also get the same type of house in either Belmont, Banstead or Epsom Downs. There are the transport link to Wilson is via Train and bus ride from these location, may boys do this every day.
