Hi,

Just wanted to know in the London borough of Croydon, after the initial results are sent out to parents in October - is the head of the child's primary school also sent the result?

My child is in a faith school and the head is quite anti -grammar school and he prefers the children to continue in a Secondary faith school.

Thanks

Whoever runs the exam would not be able to pass on your DC's results without telling you - what does it say in the information for parents where you go to register your DC to take the exam?

Hi Toadmum.

Thanks very much for your prompt reply.

Below is only what I could find on one of the website's:

Quote:
When do I find out the outcome of the shared Wilson’s/Sutton Grammar Second Stage Entrance Examination?
Each school will send you a separate notification of the outcome of the Second Stage Entrance Examination for their school by email to parents/carers by the end of 19 October 2018.
. It then goes on to explain about the scoring.......

Can't seem to find anything about October results going to the head of the primary school. However in some of the general forums in other regions in the country on this website there is mention that is does go to the Headteacher in October......so was wondering if anyone had any idea if that is the same in Croydon area?

Reading the above, it says parents/carers not Head teachers.

No state school primary head is allowed to be overtly pro grammar, by the way, so your head is not unique in that. I would try not to worry - assumably you are in priority for your faith secondary any way (ie the right religion/in catchment etc) so would have that down on your CAF somewhere?

Only primary schools in selective areas, like Bucks, are sent selection test results. Croydon does not have a single grammar and test are not organised by LA there.

The CSSE here used to tell the candidate's primary school unless the parent said not to. I don't know whether, when the exam was in November and results were only sent to parents just after the LA school allocation, the results only went to the school in March, or earlier.

However, the first year of the change to a September exam, October notification, many parents on here were cursing themselves for demanding that their primary school wasn't told - many of the CSSE emails were severely delayed, but those who had not demanded secrecy were able to ask the primary school for the information.

Double-edged sword, sometimes, this privacy lark  .
