Bit risky. You could fill up the other spaces on the CAF with other schools that you have a chance with. There are some with larger catchment areas if you wanted to avoid Blenheim. E.g. I think Epsom and Ewell High School has quite a large catchment area. Not sure on Southborough Boys in Chessington but they may do too, and whilst not your first choice of grammar or Glyn, could be preferable to Blenheim?

Hopefully the CAF has gone in by now as the deadline was yesterday!

Just curious as to what happens if:
  • Parents miss the deadline and submit a day later, assuming that one is able to submit later than 31st Oct and is considered as late submission.
Parents aren't even aware of the need to fill the CAF for their DCs move from Primary to Secondary school.

Any late submission would probably be treated as in-year one with a different set of rules applying.

Aren't all primary schools informing parents what they are supposed to do about the transition to secondary school? Our school had distributed booklets, organised a special parents evening on the subject and sent e-mail reminders.

Each LA will have a policy detailing how late applications are handled.

I believe the LA usually take responsibility if a parent has not made an application.
