Sutton Grammar School 2019

Post by Ashforddad »

Hi
My son has got a place at 3rd preferred school SGS. Tiffens and Wilson are his 1st and 2nd preference. He scored 108 in Tiffens, however we are from the outer priority area which makes his chances to enter very slim. Wilson is more popular hence I doubt if there will be more movement in the waiting list. Fingers crossed. Anyway pleased with SGS as well.

Is there anyone who got admission in SGS that we can connect to so that children can meet up prior to the 1st day at school?? We are placed in Ashford and hence will move to Sutton area sometime in August. Anyone interested to connect?

SGS is a fantastic school - you won't be disappointed.

However, if you still have your heart set on Wilson's then the waiting list does move, so don't despair. Have you called the school to ask where your son is on the list? We had placed Wilson's below SGS on the CAF, yet Wilson's got in touch after offer day and were very keen for us to reconsider our options and put our son on their waiting list even though we'd accepted the SGS place - they strongly hinted that he would be high enough on the waiting list to get a place before September. We declined.

SGS holds a transition day for the boys in July where they spend a full school day at the school, meet their tutor and their future classmates.
They have a parents' welcome evening also in July at their beautiful grounds on Northey Avenue. The boys play games and the parents have food, drink, and meet other parents and teachers.
