Re: Commute - Harrow to Wallington County Grammar School
I live locally and my children go to Sutton grammar schools.
Never come across anyone doing a commute like this.
The head of Wilson’s is very clear. No commutes longer than an hour.
Subjecting your son to that journey would be terrible.
Did you sit the test at a time when you thought you were going to move?

The TfL journey planner shows a journey of around 90 minutes from Rayners Lane station. How far from the station do you live?
No school is worth such a damaging journey. Please do your son the favour of declining Wallington Boys. Satisfy yourself with the knowledge that he got the place and could have gone if he'd wanted, but make the wise and caring choice of declining.

Hello, my son goes to Sutton grammar and has a 45 minute commute with no change. He is one of those travelling the longest to get to school. It’s OK, but would be better socially if he lived closer as most of his friends live in the Sutton area and socialise around there, and that will only get more pronounced as the boys get older and meet up informally locally. I think 1.5 hours/ d each way would be really unfair.

Hi OP. We turned down a superselective too for a partially selective school and the journey wasn’t even as long as the one you are considering for your son. We have had absolutely no regrets. St Clement Danes has a really good reputation. I know what I would do if I were in your shoes.
