Hounslow to Sutton 2020 entry
Is anyone aware of any coach from Hounslow to Sutton Grammar school or planning for any private coach for 2020 entry?

Please don't say that you have actually left it until less than 4 hours to go until the CAF submission deadline to consider this?Eleven9 wrote:Is anyone aware of any coach from Hounslow to Sutton Grammar school or planning for any private coach for 2020 entry?

My DS goes to SGS - he's not aware of anyone travelling by private coach.

Not even Hounslow!
It's over 10 miles from Hounslow to Sutton, and that's without the diversion you'd have to make to get around Richmond Park. Then through Kingston (traffic always awful), Worcester Park, Cheam - you'd be lucky if your coach averaged 10 mph, so that's definitely over an hour each way.
I think some boys do use the X26 bus that starts at Heathrow but I don't think it's a very fun journey for them.

The daily coach from Glasgow to the Sutton grammars might stop at Hounslow - it's worth checking.

And if all else fails, it would appear to be a pretty straightforward journey by train, depending on how fast one has to run to make the 5 minute change of trains at Clapham Junction.Broomleigh wrote:The daily coach from Glasgow to the Sutton grammars might stop at Hounslow - it's worth checking.

Hi,
There is a coach service from Hounslow to Sutton. Please PM for details. There are many pick up points nearby and hopefully it shouldn't be far from your home.
It is a workable option. Also, useful if needed on a temporary basis till you move or want to try for initial terms.
For a good ranking school among available options, it is better to make temporary compromise as long as you have a long term view and are conscious of pros & cons of options. About 18 children are already travelling currently.

How long does this coach takes from Hounslow (say, Bus Station) to Sutton Grammar, Wallington Grammar and Wilson's?
