Sutton vs WCGS vs Wilson mock tests

Hi All,

I'm just wondering what the differences are between 3 school's mock tests.

Wilson's and WCGS's mock tests are released for booking earlier than Sutton's test but most of the places on Sutton's mock test have disappeared just in 3 days  , while others still have places

Can we say that Sutton Grammar's mock test is the closest one to real test?

Thanks,

Million £ question.

SG-PTA test is long established and large number of candidates sit for these mocks. Performance is more comparable to the year group cohort.

Other mocks are also good, but are more recent ones.

Yeah, make sense.

SGS has 1500 places for each test, which gives us more acurate insights about the pupils.

They are all really good worthwhile tests but Sutton has the numbers and it is really helpful to do Mock A and then learn from the mistakes and have another go with Mock B. DG

Perhaps North London grapevine works better.

Sutton test B is the only one that includes the writing task from 2nd stage paper. We found this useful when DD did the mock there a few years ago.

Though I noticed this year they've introduced a test C during the summer holidays, too, which must be relatively new.

This is the third year of the Sutton Mocks Test C.

They have doubled the amount of Test C slots this year from four to six and they were the first to sell out.

Test C mocks are certainly helpful for those who would not be ready for mocks in May and June. DG

Hi, should I assume that Sutton Mock Test A is also suitable for Tiffin girl in term of format, type of questions? I came across another provider by mock test masters which has specific test for Kingston school. I wonder if anyone has any experience with them and if they are equally good? I have booked the Sutton Mock Test B and thinking if I should also book for Test A or try with another provider.

There are only two date slots out of twenty eight with spaces left.

I would recommend taking the earliest possible Sutton A and then that will give your dc the time to learn from the Sutton A and do a better job in Sutton B.

There is a reason why there are less than 100 bookings left out of almost four thousand. DG

My son had found all 3 schools mock tests equally useful.

Sutton Grammar tests are better known, have an established reputation and therefore slots run out first.
