Waiting lists aren't usually available until after the deadline for acceptance.

So can we accept the offer and still stay in the waiting list .. can we call the schools and check he is placed .. or local authority please advice accordingly.. we got our third preference so no clue what needs to be done .. sorry if my question doesn’t make any sense.. panicking mom

You normally accept the offer, and contact the other schools to be put on their waiting lists.

When you get offered a school which was not your 1st preferance then you will be automatically placed on the waiting lists of all of your higher preferance schools' waiting lists.
