17th March Boys Grammar School in sutton waiting list

As per sutton council, the waiting list for boys grammar schools in sutton will be available from 17th March onwards. Does anyone know if we need to contact the school or the council for the waiting list position of our kid? We did not get our first choice school, Wilson grammar and are on the waiting list but don't know the rank.
Does anyone know how much waiting list moved last year for Wilson's? I know this is different every year but still just to get an idea.

Ours is a long story but to answer your question, last year, we ended up on Wilson's waiting list.

Our timeline was as follows:

End of April - waiting list position - 21
End of May - waiting list position - 19
Mid June - offer of a place in Wilson's School (to everybody's surprise)

Eventually we declined their offer which means that WL went further below position 21.

From memory, they should be letting you know where you are on the WL just after Easter holidays.
