Dear all, A little bit off topic but this site helped me many times so I want to double check again. My son got a place in Wilson’s school. We’re moving to Sutton. Looking for good, safe neighbourhoods. I’ve read a few scary stories about some areas around Epsom and Sutton. Not familiar with the area but discovered a few nice ones like Carshalton Beeches, Woodcote Estate, some areas in Purley. Can somebody recommend me some other places that are easy to travel from to Wilson’s and at the same time well connected to London? Thank you in advance.

Hello,
Please keep posting updates on good areas in Sutton. We may have to move soon as well. My kid got to Sutton grammar and another one is appearing for 11+ this year.
Thanks

South Sutton, Wallington, and Carshalton are the areas I would recommend.

I would start in Carshalton Beeches. The s4 and 154 run from the door of Wilson’s to Carshalton Beeches. Also there is the option of the train from Carshalton Beeches to Waddon. That is slightly less convenient but useful back up. If there isn’t much kit to carry it’s walkable or a 10 min cycle. Good location for Sutton grammar as also walkable and s4 an option. A few cafes and restaurants. Brilliant bakers and butchers. Good community feel.

If you have younger DD too, then Carshalton area has another advantage as well, of being in the local catchment of both Nonsush and Wally Girls.

There is a small area in Carshalton/Carshalton Beeches that is catchment for Sutton grammar as well as Wally girls and Nonsuch. The non grammar options in that area were previously not great but the new Harris Academy Sutton has good feedback so far.
