Just got my DD's mock result of session P which is 104 in English and 119 in Math. Really poor in grammar section. Only got around 40-50% in the section of could/should/would, word, phase and punctuation and comparative.

Could somebody recommend any grammar and punctuation book in such a short period? Many thanks in advance.

There is a Carol Vorderman book . Help your child with SPAG (or something similar)
I found it very useful. Good explanations.

eta:
Help Your with English. It’s a DK book.

I would like to reassure you and say that the section contained some very hard questions that many adults would struggle to get right.

I don't think you will find that level in any 11 plus paper. DG

Thanks for comments by Daogroupie and Yoyo123.

Just one more question. It is mentioned in the mock test commentary that standardized score of 107 is estimated to meet the start of the selective school ability band.

Could someone clarified whether this score(107) is only for children who live inside of catchment area or not? If so, could you give an indicative score for children who live outside catchment area of Nonsuch and Wallington high school for girl? A rough figure should be enough (just for reference purpose).

Many thanks in advance.

I imagine that this 107 score is to qualify for round 2 (i.e. qualifying SET). Allocation categories are considered after round 2 test; not in play to move to round 2.

hi tiffinboys

Thanks for your comment. Yes, you are right that test centre also confirmed that 107 is just to give an indication of the level you are aiming for and would apply to all candidates.

Just got following figure below from Sutton website.

''Number of girls who sat the SET for 2020: 2630
Number of girls who sat the NWSSEE for 2020: 1059
Nonsuch: top 85 for candidate who live outside of catchment area
Wallinhyon: top 100 for candidate who live outside of catchment area''

Does it mean only candidate (outside of catchment area) in top 7% ((85+100)/2630)will have a chance to get into Nonsuch and Wallington? It is tough.

There are a lot of candidates who will sit the exam but not apply to the schools or will have other schools as higher priority.

One little clarification needed here.

Top 85/100 are not only who live outside catchment. Many of such candidates could be living in catchment too.

Rest as explained by bridge as well.
