Got congratulation email from Wilson's on 12:30pm.

Below was extract from the email.
"1005 boys sat the second stage entrance examination for Wilson’s School, which was shared with Sutton Grammar School. Of these 639 boys have passed the second stage Entrance Examination for Wilson’s School. In order to be eligible to be considered for a place at Wilson's School, a candidate must have met the overall pass mark of 475 based on an aggregate of the scores in the Selective Eligibility Test and the two elements of the shared second stage examination having also achieved the required threshold in both the Maths and English elements of the second stage entrance examination."

Congratulation emails from Sutton on 12:40pm.

"1021 candidates sat the second stage test and 836 met the required standard. For candidates who met the required standard, no information regarding their marks will be given to parents. Please note that, due to over-subscription, meeting the required standard does not guarantee an offer of a place at our school."

Anyone know why Wilsons and Sutton total number who sat the test is different? Thought it was the same test?

because SGS passed more students than Wilsons for stage 2 exams.

Same test but the schools determine eligibility separately. They put different weighting on each test and each decide how many eligible boys they need in their list according to previous years’ data.
