My DS has passed Wilson’s, SGS and Wallington. He was also offered to apply at Grinshaws after SET results, which was not even one of our choices. I know that not all boys received a letter from Grinshaws after the SET results. On the National Offer Day, he was offered a place in Wallington Boys, which was our second preference, while Wilson’s was our first. Can someone advise the likelihood of him getting a place in Wilson’s this year? Will Wilson’s disclose his rank if we went via the FOI channel?
What evidence can be produced if we appealed to the Council, other than the Stage 2 rank?

Well done to your son. Wally boys is a great school. You won’t get a rank from a FOI request. Wilson’s don’t disclose scores. Do be aware that if you appeal it is very unlikely to be successful unless you have strong evidence of something that impaired his performance on the test days. My advice would be to focus on Wally boys and try to forget about Wilson’s. If you get a place from the waiting list it would be great for you but be aware Wilson’s always over offer and rarely go to the waiting list.

Thank you for the advice. I’ve always heard Wallington is equally good.
Only issue is commute is a bit longer from where we are.
