Its not mention in the email. it just says the Child Rank. So no idea how many children are in waiting list.

Does this help at all? It's from a freedom of information request made last year...

Following your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act, please be advised that I do not have exact figures for the number of students that were on our ranked waiting list following National Offer Day each year (although typically it is somewhere between 80 and 110 at the end of March each year).

The information however that I can provide you with is the number of offers that were made to boys after National Offer Day each year (referred to as 'late offers', which are typically made from late March to September each year). This is as follows:

2020 entry number of late offers made from the ranked waiting list (after National Offer Day: 33
2019 entry number of late offers made from the ranked waiting list (after National Offer Day: 38

Wallington County Grammar School SET pass mark is set in order to allow us to fill our 150 places and be left with a manageably sized waiting list.

For 2019 entry, the number of boys remaining on the ranked waiting list that we were unable to offer year 7 places to when the waiting list was cancelled at the end of December 2019 was 7.
For 2020 entry, the number of boys remaining on the ranked waiting list that we were unable to offer year 7 places to when the waiting list was cancelled at the end of December 2020 was 11.

So usually there are 44-45 boys on the waiting list? It looks like this year the waiting list a bit longer

The way I read it... at the end of March 30+ boys are offered places from the waiting list (presumably those places that become free from boys who passed on Wallington offers in favour of independent schools) and so the published waiting list would consist of 40+ boys left (adding up to the 80 - 110 on the waiting list at the end of March prior to re-offer day). The information I posted before was the freedom of information response by Wallington school for years 2019 and 2020, so is not the waiting list for this year. The waiting list is possibly longer this year if people are taking up less independent school places though...
