Non verbal reasoning

Post by Otter333 »

Hi all,

I’m new so please be kind :)

We are local to tiffin boys. Does anyone know if they are still including non verbal and verbal reasoning? I’ve heard a lot of schools removed these a few years ago or incorporated into the other exams. But also due to Covid even the verbal reasoning was taken out. Not sure how much time to spend here over the next year, if at all. Thanks

My son says there were verbal reasoning kind of questions but not really NV reasoning... sorry he's a bit vague so please verify that!

Thank you - I appreciate the response. It seems like a lot of schools have dropped the non verbal reasoning aspect which is a shame as my son likes doing it and seems to be quite good. He’s not keen on the verbal reasoning which is typical

The tests are English and maths, please see the link here.
There is also information under the Admissions section on the school website.

Thanks. Yes I have read that but some people had said there used to be verbal and non verbal reasoning papers which have since been scrapped… but potentially now included these elements within the maths and English papers

Son sat it last year. There are no VR questions. There are no NVR questions. Some of the maths was puzzly according to him but not beyond what we practised.
