Honest advice - One can never beat the depth in the paper but you can beat the depth out of peers by sharpening your basics. The more difficult a paper the more strong basics count as its difficult for everyone. Focus on basics and speed and dont worry about the pattern. It doesnt really matter if the children leave a question as I can bet no one would have finished the paper in stage 2 . What counts is the ones which are solvable have been solved on time with complete accuracy both for English and Maths. Reading a variety of books help.

Thank you. He’s one of the top for maths and his reading is also great. It’s the creative writing that’s his downfall. Not sure if it’s too big a mountain to climb as by this stage I imagine the level is so high across all three

I think Otter333 is referring to the child being assessed by the teacher as GDS in the school report

My DD was offered and has accepted a place at TGS. She has been working in greater depth in all subjects throughout primary school and we also had her CAT scores at age 9 years 5 months old to help us gauge her ability. Hope that helps answer your question and good luck with whatever decision you make!

I just heard back from the council and they have asked to contact TGS to get waiting list position.
Has anyone written to TGS to check this?
