Hi all,

Just found this website forum and it`s very useful.

Can anyone tell me (from previous knowledge maybe) the formats of the Entrance papers at Wallington Grammar.

By this, I mean are the exams in standard format or multiple choice format.

Also, as they do not use NFER papers, what practice papers would mock the real exam questions.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks all.

Hi,

English (comprehension & essay) 40 minutes. Mathematics (work covered up to KS2) 30 minutes. Verbal Reasoning (write answers directly onto the booklet just like a puzzle book) 20 minutes. WGS write all our own papers and do not use any outside agencies like NFER. WGS do not supply past papers however your son should have completed similar Mathematics and English work at Primary School.

The open day Thursday, 5th October 2006 between 3.30 – 8.00 p.m. The Head Master will speak at 4.00, 5,00, 6.00, 6.30, 7.00 and 7.30 p.m. Prefects will be available for guided tours. Doors close at 8.00 p.m.
Daytime tours can be arranged by appointment. These will be scheduled between Monday, 9th - Friday 20th October.

Closing date for Applications: Friday, 20th October 2006. Entrance Examination: Saturday, 25th November 2006

Hi,

Does anyone know how many questions the boys have to answer in the entrance exams for English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning ??

The reason for my question is that I`m timing my son with practice questions, say for example 80 questions over 1 Hr, but want to narow this down so that I can mock the real WGS exams.

Help please !!!

Does anyone know what papers and material would best suit the exam for WGS?

Also would you know how many verbal reasoning questions you have to answer in the 20mins or so provided.

Thanks
