Hi,
out of curiosity, I wonder if everybody is applying to all three Sutton grammars, like us, or not.

I applied all three of them and plus Tiffin LSAT YEAR? Am I qualified to vote?

of course,
sorry did not include Tiffin, did not know about it, probably too far for londoners, even suburbians

My son will be sitting for all three. (w/boys, W/son, S/grammar)
(I'm curious too!)

My elder son wasn't able to sit for W/boys AND S/grammar two years ago, as the tests for the both were on the same day. (and the same papers?)

tks

Hi tomtom

I believe we are in a similar situation, i.e. ds on the waiting list at Wallington, so we are trying harder on Sutton and Wilson's

best of luck, maybe they will be class mates

so far I found out that it does not seem there is clear difference between the three exams, a neighbourgh knows of people that passed one and not the others, and so on

plus another neighbour has a guaranteed place at Wall but still trying Wilson's, but not Sutton

I've got the impression people tend to prefer Wilson's to Sutton

how was it for your elder son? did yo find the same?

Never the same papers interestingly enough, however you could apply to both and if passed in one and not given a place could go to the other. 2 years ago Sutton mopped up the end of the Wallington waiting list and still had 5 empty places.

Hi Giulio

I think you will find a very broad mix in terms of which school people prefer. Geography of course may be an issue, but we got quite a different feel at all 3 and had no hesitation in having Sutton first!

The exams all cover the same subjects but do vary considerably in content and of course the time in the academic year you can sit them which I think really works to the boys advantage as gives them 3 different chances and you really do see some passing one and not the others.

All 3 are good schools.

Hi, Giulio

In fact, we didn't even think of Sutton 2 years ago, as I said, we knew he could not take the exam anyway. We didn't even visit the school either then. My elder son doesn't know anything about Sutton.

Good luck to you too!

it seems there is a shadow of a pattern emerging:
either people go for all three
unless ds passed Wallington and is the first choice
and a slight preference for Wilson's....
