Seems unfair @almostover. For some results are the only thing they look at but for others there are different considerations. Children with special needs or who may be vulnerable can benefit from a more nurturing school that doesn’t pile on pressure - and just children who wouldn’t flourish in a large state school might benefit from the environment of the school and find it easier to make friends, grow in confidence and perhaps gain through shining in sport and extra curricular activities not available elsewhere. I don’t have a child at this school but know kids there and can see benefits over the local state school (If out of catchment for a good state school as there are many) even if the exam results are similar.
