Dean Close School/Prep

Thank you for this post. We loved the school and want DS to go there but at the moment definitely want a different senior school at 13+ (Eton) and was a little worried that maybe it couldn't achieve high Common Entrance marks (65%+ in all subjects). If they can teach to this level if a child is able then I will have no qualms about sending him there and in time we may love the school so much that he moves onto the senior school.

Re: Dean Close School/Prep
I looked around this school and was so impressed.
They offer one of the best scholarship and mean tested
opportunities so you may find even children who did well
in the grammar will still opt for this school if they feel
the school will nurture their talents such as music as one example. Allowing this
will free places for those who just missed out on qualifying. So I don’t agree with people
who say children who don’t pass grammar or Pates end up here. Sometimes it’s the opposite.
So it isn’t one to dismiss by any means depending on the child.
