Oakham school

Post by loo1965 »

Just after a bit of advice please if anyone can help. My son will be going into yr 5 in Sept and currently attends a prep school in Lincs. He has just been awarded a sports scholarship which we are thrilled with.

I contacted Oakham last yr to ask if we could get a bursary and they came back with 25% - i asked if we could top up with a scholarship ( sports) but apparently they dont do until 13+. We are grateful to get the offer of 25% but this just isn't enough as i have a younger boy who will be starting school next year.

How do i go back/do i go back to Oakham and state our case? or is that too cheeky? I really do feel he would very much contribute to life at the school, particularly in the sports arena

What do you think???

Thanks in anticipation

Loo :)

Hi

Oakham is v nice school but the fees are high and get higher after they move on from jerwoods.

They used to add scholarships and bursaries together - I thought this was from 11 but maybe they have now changed it.

I think you can only go back and ask, cheeky or not, you will never know otherwise.

edit: I've sent you a pm
