Entrance exam - composition

Post by joop »

My son has an entrance exam at the end of this month for an independent school. He has not had any tutoring but is very bright and recently passed his eleven plus with a very high score (we are not in catchment though). Not too worried about the entrance exam as he is good at maths, verbal reasoning and there is a multiple choice comprehension. However I have just seen that there is a 30 min continuous prose on a choice of topics which he may find trickier so thought I should have a couple of practice runs with him. The school do not give example papers to look at so if anyone has any examples I could use for practice that would be very helpful and also what a school would be looking for.

Many thanks

Have you downloaded any past papers from other schools' websites? The habs boys site has a few and so does St Albans High School for Girls.
Good luck with the tests.
