Good luck Tailsmo!Tailsmo wrote:A quick update on our status... We visited the junior boarding house a few weeks ago, and DD loved it. I did too, it's a real family-oriented place, and I'm sure she'll thrive there.
We've passed the initial evaluation of the Trustees and received the invitation this week to sit the entrance test on 2nd December (4 weeks Friday )
We did mock SATS this weekend, and DD's scores were 5b for English and 4a for Maths, a big improvement on mock SATS last May.
We're both feeling positive about the test!

Re: Applying for Indepdent School Scholarship
Status update - DD's entrance test was last Friday.
She was very nervous going into the test, and I have never spent 3 longer hours. When she came out she was smiling and confident that she had done her best. She felt the tests weren't as difficult as the Bond papers we have been doing. This either means she has done really well , or that she has completely misunderstood the questions .
The school advised we will know the result within 10 days, so should know by this time next week.
DD and I spent the rest of Friday together - I really wasn't going to make her go back to school in the afternoon. However, both of us have felt at a bit of a loose end all weekend, because we've got nothing to do. I don't think we quite realised how much time we've spent, especially this term, on preparation.

Results day - and she passed
DD is so happy. I am so proud of her.
We have been invited to an interview on 19th January. 1 more step to go. I can walk around with everything crossed for 5 weeks

Congratulations Talismo to both of you . I have been following this thread for a while and was rooting for you. I hope the interview goes well.
