...was caught on the hoof a bit. Are you expected to accept immediately on the phone or are you allowed to think about it? Trouble is we were convinced we wouldn't be offered a place so we put all our efforts into evaluating our other 2 offers and none into this school. We always liked it but i didn't feel i could make a decision on the phone. Can they withdraw an offer? I have nothing in writing..

No you can't be expected to decide on the hoof... plenty of people won't decide anyway until they get the allocations today. you could reasonably go and have another look round before you decide!

Did they say that they would send it to you in writing? They won't expect an answer on the phone as you'd have to discuss it with other members of the family.

I'm going to look around it today with DD but should i call this morning and ask for it in writing? Is it reasonable to ask if i could meet with the Deputy Head? i have lots of questions to ask but now questions regarding GCSE and IGCSE's. i understand that some schools don't allow the students to sit GCSE's because the Universities prefer the IGCSE's.....

That's interesting - DDs school say they don't offer them because universities 'do not ask for them'
