Advice on bursuries

Post by Roz12 »

Hi all,

I just wanted to know if my daughter does well in her entrance exams and I apply for a bursary would I qualify? I am a single mum with low income but I have a lump sum awarded by my ex due to my divorce. With this go against me? It's supposed to before a deposit for a house but not enough at the moment-still saving.

Please let me know

every school has different ways of assessing the amount of money awarded and also who it awarded to. Some count capital in the bank - others only income - others looks at both parents income. You need to ask the schools before getting too excited about a place, many people find that there is still a gap between the amount offered and what they can really afford.
