RGS Guildford 1st form - books?

Hi
Is there anyone around who can remember from the talks in class which books we were recommended to buy them? Specific French and Spanish dictionaries were suggested. I thought I'd remember but so much has happened, and I don't. Other books were also recommended by the form teacher at induction, but I understand not all teachers gave out a list, so these weren't obligatory - just suggestions.
And generally - how is everyone feeling? DS is slightly worried about not knowing anyone and about making new friends.
