Group 1 consortium English paper

Just noticed that on the cover sheet there are 2 marks for comprehension : raw reading out of 40 and scaled reading out of 50.
Does any one know what is meant by scaled reading. Is that age adjusted ?

I would imagine that it meant that the marks are converted so that they are out of 50, so 30/40 would equate to 37.5 out of 50. They do not make adjustments for age - that I do know.
