Its pretty similar to most independent school exams - most of the maths questions are straight forward for level 5 maths.
The English comprehension is standard text- nothing convoluted in my opinion - again a girl who is at level5 should find it pretty straight forward and the VR covers standard VR concepts.
If your child looks at CLSG, HABs etc past papers, which in my opinion are harder and is able to overcome them, then will be very fine with Cheltenham Ladies Exams.

Thank you. Someone said they thought that the VR isn't multiple choice? Do you know if this is correct?

I believe its a mixture - there were a handful of scenario based questions.
My DD is now in 6th form, so its been a while, however I supported a friend whose daughter has just started Year 7 this September and the exam format had not changed much.
As long as your DD is working at that level and done some VR practice, looking at the different techniques, she should be fine.

Hello

I am picking up on this old post. Can anyone help me with the CLC exam please (content wise).
Is the creative writing just one question or choice of several.
What are the VR questions like.
Is Section B (problem solving) make up half the maths paper. What would be good revision papers for this.
Would like to chat with anyone that has done or knows someone that has done the CLC exam.

Many thanks

My daughter took it two years ago.

She says that she thinks the creative writing one you had a choice of two or three different things to write about.

She found the VR questions quite difficult, but they were the types she'd prepared for with normal 11+ preparation.

We used general SATs maths revision books - plus one she'd made as a revision one.

She / I am happy to answer questions where we can!
