Mumworried - my dd is in Year 10 at St Helen's. She really enjoyed her interview, she had some academic quite taxing questions but it was also very friendly.
Going from memory I think she had a Maths puzzle and was also asked some questions about a painting. There was probably more to it but I can't remember! Tell your dd not to worry, it's a very friendly warm school.

We got a phone call yesterday for the interview on Saturday, which was a very short notice but there is nothing much we can do.

Just wondering if all the interviews at St Helen's were purely academic for half an hour. We as parents were interviewed as well for 30 mins with the deputy head. Anyone had different sort of interviews?

Nope. My "interview" with the deputy head was a pleasant chat. I had a different version at Habs where it was a proper interview with the deputy head, she was taking notes. At St Helen's we just spoke about my DD, the school etc.
