No email. I finished work and then went to check the mail. It arrived in a large brown envelope so I hope you walk in to find one like that.

MCLC - we have an offer from LU also and are waiting to hear from City (which l believe you also applied to?). If you get an offer from City which would you take? What's your feelings regarding the pros and cons of each? I am really not sure which we will take if we also get an offer from City.

Hi ItsNearlyOver. I have a Ds who is currently in the first form ( year 7) at City.
Last year we were in the very fortunate position of having offers from a number of schools, including Latymer Upper. As a family we found it very had to come to a decision as to which school to choose-City or LU. Both are fantastic schools. We live equidistant to both with equally convenient journeys. Academically, I think they are on the same level. We ended up choosing City for a number of reasons including the following:Ds loves football and dislikes Rugby (no Rugby at City, Rugby at LU), the "vibe" at City appeared to us to be softer/gentler ( we felt that there was a bit of a " too cool for school" air at LU) and moreover we were blown away by the diversity ( social and economic) at City. In the end DH and I had a gut feeling that City was a better fit for our Ds (it also helps that City is £1000 a term less). Ds has settled in at City very well. We have had no reason to regret our choice. He has friends at LU, who are equally happy with their choice.
My Dd is currently in year 6 and has today received offers from all the schools we applied to. We now have to make the equally difficult decision between City girls and Godolphin. We feel very lucky and greatful to be in this position. We will immediately be releasing the other offers. Good luck to everyone.

Hi,

Yes we are waiting to hear from City, although DS said he didn't think the interview went well so we don't think we'll get an offer sadly. I really like both schools!

Latymer Upper or City of London (Boys) WWYD?

We've been very fortunate to have been offered LU today but are also waiting on results from City next Friday. It may be that we get a "no" from City which will be fine as there is nothing academically between the two schools (their results are identical). His interview went well so maybe he'll get an offer. My DS likes both - co-ed or all boys - both have advantages really. He is a friendly chap who gives everything a go - has loads of interests but not any one thing. Not particularly sporty but gives it a go and would be in the middle of ability sports-wise. Academically very able. Both schools equal distance on district line. Anyone have observations on either school or have you had to chose between them? Which did you go for any why? Thanks!

I'll watch this post with interest but am thinking we won't be lucky enough to get City anyway :( . Good to hear that they are pretty similar schools though.
